It was released in Japan on January 27, 2011, and has been confirmed for release in Europe in 2012.
In June 23, 2011, a fan campaign called "Operation Rainfall" was started to persuade Nintendo to localize Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower for North America. Xenoblade has since been announced for an American release, but Nintendo continues to state that it has no plans to bring The Last Story to the US.
