The Last Story, known in Japan as Rasuto Sutōrī (ラストストーリー) is an action role-playing game developed by Mistwalker and AQ Interactive, and published by Nintendo for the Wii. The game was created by the creator of the Final Fantasy series, Hironobu Sakaguchi. Nintendo and Mistwalker both sought to create "a new form of RPG by choosing the universal theme of human emotion". It was released in Japan on January 27, 2011, and has been confirmed for release in Europe in 2012.
In June 23, 2011, a fan campaign called "Operation Rainfall" was started to persuade Nintendo to localize Xenoblade, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower for North America. Despite this, Nintendo has stated "there are no plans to bring these three games to the Americas at this time."
