The Last Story, known in Japan as Rasuto Sutōrī (ラストストーリー), is an action role-playing game developed by Mistwalker and AQ Interactive, and published by Nintendo for the Wii. The game was created by the creator of the Final Fantasy series, Hironobu Sakaguchi. Nintendo and Mistwalker both sought to create "a new form of RPG by choosing the universal theme of human emotion".

Nintendo originally did not intend to bring The Last Story to North America, but massive pressure from fans has convinced Nintendo to give it a NA release, albeit published by XSEED and not Nintendo itself.

Problems

Freeze from time to time

If dolphin revision older then 3.0-784 is used, occasionally when you are transitioning from one scene to another through events, battles, loading, etc, the game freezes. Graphics will be locked, but music and sounds may continue. Setting the CPU Emulator engine to JITIL should help preventing this from occurring. This freezing has been fixed on 3.0-784. Cpu emulator engine should be left at default JIT value for latest dolphin version,as JITIL causes slight slowdown.

Clothes texture missing

Part of the body and clothes are missing. Use EFB copy to RAM to fix this.

  • NOTE: You can change it back to EFB to Texture once the game is running. Keep in mind that with EFB to Texture active, every time a new model is introduced, such as meeting a new character, going through a loading screen, equipping a new armour etc, it will not load. Switch to RAM before a new model is loaded to prevent it.
    • The "Enable Hotkeys" setting, found in the Graphics settings, under the Advanced tab, can be used to speed up this process. With hotkeys enabled, press "5" to toggle between EFB to Texture and EFB to Ram.
