Tried to access the forum sometime ago and suddenly it says I'm banned. Sounds like that pesky IP bug + someone using the purge spammer button. Not sure if you're aware but I think it's work mentioning (I would go to IRC instead but I can't at the moment)... - Jhonn (talk) 18:41, 22 June 2016 (CEST)
Adding JMC4789 to sysop group
I always thought JMC4789 already had sysop privileges (aka administrator) here, but that seems to not be the case, as I noticed today. I think we should promote him... - Jhonn (talk) 00:36, 12 July 2016 (CEST)
- I don't really agree... I mean, he's someone I've known for a long time, and a good friend, but... he is a stubborn and determined individual. It's kind of his strongsuit - he jumps in and gets things done and moves on. But there is some complications to that kind of personality. He doesn't respond well to consensus and complex discussions, he gets frustrated by beauracracy and just wants everything out of the way so he can work. And I can't imagine him responding well to the consensus turning against him; I think he'd either blast everyone and do it anyway or just go f you and quit the wiki. Working on his own testing games is where he can really shine, with little to no restrictions and total freedom to channel his incredible energy toward a great goal. I guess I just don't think wiki administration is a good fit for him. It usually requires someone who is reserved and patient, while he is bold and determined, and easily frustrated. I don't think just making things more convenient is a good reason for such a move. There are a lot of responsibilities that come with the position. - MaJoR (talk) 01:04, 12 July 2016 (CEST)
