Donkey Kong Country Returns with the classic side-scrolling play that made the original so popular, now rendered with new levels and vibrant 3D environments. When Donkey Kong's banana stash is stolen, he goes on a quest to get them back. This time, Diddy Kong joins the adventure, opening up the franchise's first opportunity for co-op play. Diddy can hop on and off Donkey Kong's back any time, giving rookies a chance to ride along when the going gets too tough.
Problems
Controllers Disconnect
Wii Remotes randomly disconnect if "Enable Speaker Data" is on. Disable it to correct the problem.
Low Resolution DK
With EFB to RAM, Donkey Kong will appear at a lower resolution than the rest of the image, and the upper left quadrant will be pixelated. Use EFB to Texture to avoid these problems.
Super Guide May Die
The Super Guide may fail or die because the game and Super Guide recordings fall out of sync. Fortunately, depending of the stage, the game continues as if he won.
Configuration
Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
Wii Remote
Config | Setting | Notes |
---|---|---|
Enable Speaker Data | Off | Fixes Wiimote disconnects |
Version Compatibility
The graph below charts the compatibility with Donkey Kong Country Returns since Dolphin's 2.0 release, listing revisions only where a compatibility change occurred.
