Priiloader is a Wii homebrew app designed to be installed from Homebrew Channel. While it's most useful on physical consoles, it is perfectly possible to install it in Dolphin too, provided that Wii Menu has been installed beforehand.
Priiloader normally consists of 2 apps: Priiloader Installer, and Load Priiloader, the latter of which launches Priiloader after it has been installed with the former.
The app serves as a wrapper around the Wii Menu, intended to enable the Wii Menu to allow certain features (Moving the Disc Channel around, block on-disc Wii Menu updates, and so on), and to protect the Wii from exploit-fixing system updates and from some types of bricking. On Dolphin, it only serves a reason when using an installed Wii System Menu setup, and only some of the options are relevant for Dolphin, but the feasible options allow:
- Turn off Wii Menu's BGM and optionally also sound effects.
- Move Disc Channel.
- "Auto-Press A at Health Screen". Only applies when a Wii Remote (emulated or real) has been connected for that session.
- "Region Free EVERYTHING": Makes banners of games from other regions show up in Wii Menu, and allows certain Wii channels from other regions to launch (e.g. PAL Forecast Channel from a JP Wii Menu). It will fail to load games with those banners, but those can be loaded from Dolphin's title list regardless.
- "Block Disc Updates": May prevents occasions of the console installing an update from a disc from another region, resulting in Wii Menu becoming confused as to what region it has.
- "Force Boot into Data Management": Boots Wii Menu into the Data Management settings, instead of the main channel selection menu.
- "480p graphics fix in system menu"
- "Remove Deflicker"
Emulation Information
Priiloader When Changing Between Wii System Menu Setups/Regions
If Wii Menu is deleted, or the menu has been backed up by moving the 00000002
to somewhere else on the PC or phone, then Priiloader will have to be installed again into the new Wii Menu setup.
Cannot Run Priiloader Installer From Game List
Priiloader will not get past an initial black screen if it's launched from Dolphin's title list. It must instead be run as an emulated SD card's file from within Homebrew Channel.
Options Designed For Wii U's vWii Don't Show Up
Various measures that had been included in Priiloader to detect vWii since Priiloader v0.8.2, in order to prevent what at the time would be a certain brick, would from v0.10 onwards be used to show a few unique settings intended specifically for Wii U, related to WiiConnect24 patching, and to re-instate the Wii settings (which are not normally there on vWii).
As Dolphin is detected by Priiloader Installer as an ordinary Wii, such options will not show up in Priiloader.
Missing USB storage support
As of 5.0-21088, Dolphin does not forward any USB storage devices to Priiloader, neither physical passthrough devices, nor emulated devices.
Problems
"Mark Network Connection as Tested" Doesn't Work Properly
On a physical Wii, the option would mark the current active network settings as tested, in the event that the Wii refuses to recognize those network settings. In Dolphin, the option does not fix Error 101232, an error that breaks all online functionality in the Dolphin setup.
Configuration
No configuration changes are known to affect compatibility for this title.

5.0-21088 | Windows 11 | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @ 3.6 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 | Priiloader Installer works pretty well once I got the installer into the virtual SD card. Load Priiloader works very well for the most part, besides the above notes. | DandelionSprout |
