Wii Play is a party game developed and produced by Nintendo as a supplementary title bundled within the Wii controller retail pack. Wii Play consists of nine games. All games are designed for 2 players, but can also be played either by a single player, or a single player with a computer-controlled second player. No Nunchuks are required for any of the games; however, players can use a Nunchuk as a substitute for the D-Pad for the Tanks! game if they wish. Wii Play received a sequel in 2011 entitled Wii Play: Motion which takes advantage of the Wii MotionPlus.
Emulation Information
Fishing
After 4.0-553 it's extremely difficult, perhaps impossible, to catch fish with an emulated Wii Remote. Use a real Wii Remote or a revision prior to 4.0-553 to address this.
Billiards
Due to the complex Wii Remote movements required this mini-game is nearly unplayable using emulated controllers. Use a real Wii Remote to address this.
Problems
Laser Hockey - Neon Tubes
The neon tubes in the Laser hockey game do not look correct if an internal resolution of more than 1x is used and "Scaled EFB Copy" is enabled. Disabling "Scaled EFB Copy" fixes the problem but causes other errors like unsharp textures.
Mii Face Corruption
Mii faces will show wrong, some NPC faces will even duplicate the player Mii's. This is often seen on old Wii games that use Miis. This can be adressed by using Single Core or Deterministic Dual Core.
Find Mii - Flashlight
The flashlight didn't show up, making the "dark" levels impossible to complete. Fixed by 5.0-568.
Configuration
Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
General
Config | Setting | Notes |
---|---|---|
Enable Dual Core | Off | Render Mii faces properly |

r7723 | Mac OS X 10.6.8 | Intel Core i3 @ 3.06GHz | ATI Radeon HD 4670 | Broken, crashes instantly | |
3.0-458 | Windows 7 | AMD Athlon II X3 450 @ 3.4GHz | AMD Radeon HD 6670 | 50~60FPS | Faefdsedf |
5.0-2951 | Windows 7 | Intel Celeron G1610 @ 2.6GHz | Intel HD Graphics | A LOT of bugs, not recommended to play unless you have a real Wii Remote and a way to connect it. Mii faces almost always show wrong. | EblfIYH |
