Resident Evil Zero, known in Japan as Biohazard 0, is the last of the main titles to use the original Resident Evil game system prior to the changes ushered in Resident Evil 4. The game's storyline serves as a prequel to Resident Evil, covering Rebecca Chambers ordeal a day prior. A near straight port was released for the Wii in 2009 under the title Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero.

r6535 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i5-760 | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 | Perfect
r6535 | Windows 7 | AMD Phenom II 955 X4 @ 3.2 GHz | ATI Radeon HD 4890 | Perfect
r6666 | Windows 7 | AMD Phenom X4 9550 @ 2.1 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GT 8500 | Starts, Intense lag (typically 40% speed or less).
r7540 | Windows 7 | Intel Core I7-3612QM @ 2.1 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M | Perfect | Squall |
3.0 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i7 @ 3.6 GHz | ATI Radeon HD 5870 | Almost Perfect, some BGMs will cut out, using HLE audio with XAudio2. | Duriancake |
3.0 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i7-3612QM 2.1 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M | Perfect if checked "Skip EFB access from CPU" | Squall |
3.0-367 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i3 @ 3.1 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti | Works great after setting the frame limit to Audio instead of Auto. | Axlyted |
3.0-750 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i3 @ 3.2 GHz | ATI Radeon HD 5570 | Slow. Average of 15-20FPS, with some major drops in certain areas. | JuniorF30 |
3.0-765 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i7-3612QM @ 2.1 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M | Good but drops down to 18FPS after state load. Doesn't clear code. | Squall |
3.0-801 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i5-2500K @ 3.3 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 | Perfect as long as you don't load state, major slow down if you do use it.
3.5-368 | Windows 7 | AMD A6-3400M @ 2.4 GHz | AMD Radeon HD 6650M | I had one random fifo error that caused the game to not continue, but after a reboot that did not happen again. I played through the entire game with no real issues. Full speed all the way through with VBeam enabled. | Starscream |
3.5-597 | Windows 8 | Intel Core 2 Duo E8300 @ 2.8 GHz | ATI Radeon HD 5770 | Perfect with xaudio2 and vbeam emulation enabled | fly16 |
3.5-1379 | Windows 7 | AMD Phenom II 955 X4 @ 3.2 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT | With Vbeam off speed is between 80% and 90%. Enabling Vbeam speed is at 100% but the game crashes. Enable the DSP in a dedicated thread and enable Vbeam, the game works perfectly and without errors. | RaaS |
3.5-2319 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i3-2330M @ 2.2 GHz | Intel HD Graphics 3000 | Playable, 20~30FPS. Most of the game runs at full speed, it slows down when too many actors are on the screen. The internal resolution doesn't really matter here (1x~3x were tested). | Oddlyoko2K |
4.0 | Windows 7 | Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GT 210 | Not full speed but pretty decent, 20-30FPS most of time.
4.0.1 | Windows 7 | AMD FX-6100 @ 3.3 GHz | AMD Radeon HD 6770 | Perfect, solved audio crackling by enabling VBeam in properties and setting Framelimit to Audio, sometimes slight (down to 25FPS or so) slowdown in one angle in the main mansion lobby when the torch is visible (Similar problem as in REmake) and when the final boss shoots acid, which I'm sure you can fix by tweaking graphic settings. Also if I played for more than 2 hours straight or ALT-tabbed too frequently it'd crash (some "out of sync" fifo error) so I had to state save once in a while. Apart from that no graphical glitches, FMVs work perfectly and 30FPS throughout
4.0.2 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i3-2330M @2.2 GHz | Intel HD Graphics 3000 | Playable? 18~30FPS, it runs perfectly on FMVs and during menus/single 3D objects but it slows down on some in-game animations. Played a bit though the first stage with no sound to "smooth" the lag. If you have my settings and you want to play this game, try the older stable releases. | Oddlyoko2K |
4.0.2 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i5-2500K @3.3 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce 460 GTX 1GB | Playable. Occasional sound hiccups when going through doors (either a noisy static sound or an abrupt increase in volume and then cessation of the BGM). Generally full speed with Dual Core and Idle Skipping, minor slowdown in a few spots (such as fighting the centipede); enabling VBeam might produce intermittent cackling audio. GPU de-synchronization problems every once in a while. | DolphinTester47 |
4.0-1601 | Windows 7 | AMD FX 8350 @ 4 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 | Almost Perfect. I've played a lot with settings and these gave me solid 30FPS, i noticed that internal resolution have a direct performance impact for this game so its better to leave it at native resolution, i have max anisotropic and 2x antialias in general settings and these are the per game settings:
- Uncheck "DPS HLE Emulation (fast)" everything else in "Core" is checked click on "Edit Config" and add these lines [Core] GFXBackend = OGL FrameLimit = 0x0000000d DSPHLE = False [Video_Hardware] VSync = True [Video_Hacks] EFBAccessEnable = True [DSP] EnableJIT = True [Video_Settings] EFBScale = 2 --Note: you can increase internal resolution 1 notch by setting EFBScale to 3 but expect some slowdowns to 22-25FPS in some areas, other will still be 30FPS. |

4.0-3369 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i5-2430M @ 2.4 GHz | Intel HD Graphics 3000 | Perfect 100%, backend Direct3D, XFB enabled to virtual, V-sync disabled, idle skipping disabled, skip xfb enabled. | Talos |
4.0-3628 VR-hydra | Windows 8.1 | Intel Core i7-4770K @ 3.5 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 | Unplayable nice introduction (see video). | Vrbites.com |
4.0-4091 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i7 @ 2.8 GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 | Flawless with no slow downs, audio irregularities, or graphical problems of any kind.
NOTE: I had to play with these settings quite a bit until I found the perfect combination, and this is every setting I used. Framelimit: 60 - Backend: Direct3D - Fullscreen Resolution: 1920x1080 - Aspect Ratio: Stretch To Window - V-Sync-On - Render To Main Window - Internal Resolution: 4xNative - AntiAliasing: 8 Samples (Quality level 32) - Anistropic Filtering: 16x - Scaled EFB Copy - Force Texture Filtering - Per Pixel Lighting - Widescreen Hack Enabled - EFB: Virtual - DSP: HLE Fast - Audio Backend: XAudio2 - Everything on Core was a solid blue Square |
