Kirby's Dream Collection is a game for the Nintendo Wii, released in 2012 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Kirby series. It features 3 modes: a set of challenge stages using the same technology as Kirby's Return to Dream Land, a playable set of older Kirby games (Dream Land, Adventure, Dream Land 2, Super Star, Dream Land 3, and 64: The Crystal Shards), and a museum mode, which provides information on both Nintendo and the world throughout the years.
Problems
Inaccurate Sound in Videos
A problem carried over from the previous game, video audio either gets desynced, stutters or stops playing altogether.
Classic Titles
As of 3.5-268, all classic titles work properly except for Kirby's Adventure, which requires Internal Resolution x1.
Controller Disconnect
Both emulated and real Wii remotes disconnect after choosing a classic title. They can be reconnected.
Config
Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
Graphics
Config | Setting | Notes |
---|---|---|
Internal Resolution | 1x (native) | Avoids distortion in Kirby's Adventure, all other games are otherwise fine if not better with higher internal resolution |
Anti-Aliasing | Off | Any anti-aliasing causes visual artefacts in Kirby's Adventure. 2x or 4x MSAA or SSAA will darken the image in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (8x is safe) |
Version Compatibility
The graph below charts the compatibility with Kirby's Dream Collection since Dolphin's 2.0 release, listing revisions only where a compatibility change occurred.
Testing
This title has been tested on the environments listed below:
Test Entries | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Revision | OS | CPU | GPU | Result | Tester |
3.0-766 | Windows 7 | Intel Core i7 | NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M | Perfect in menus and challenge stages, but sadly all of the classic playable games lock up upon starting. Also, all videos have major sound issues. At least the challenge stages work I guess. | Ac |
3.5-1386 | Windows 7 | AMD Phenom II 960T @ 4.3GHz | AMD Radeon HD 7850 | All games work perfect except Kirby's Adventure which is a NES game. | Lumbeeslayer |
4.0-8854 | Windows 10 | Intel Core i5-4670S @ 3.1GHz | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 | Works almost perfectly. | Jason |
