'''''Sonic Riders''''' is a racing video game (spin-off of the Sonic Series) produced by Sega and developed by Sonic Team in cooperation with NowPro, for the [[Nintendo GameCube]], PlayStation 2, Xbox  and PC. It is the fourth racing game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, preceded by Sonic Drift, Sonic Drift 2 and Sonic R. In this game, Sonic rides a overboard racing through World Grand Prix Eggman created, in order to discover what he is planing. What he doesn't know is that this championship is nothing but a trap...
In '''''Sonic Riders''''', Dr. Eggman challenges Sonic and his friends to a Worldwide Grand Prix, and the prize for coming out on top is an ultra-rare Chaos Emerald! Gliding on air boards – which are performance-oriented for each playable character – gamers will experience a heightened sense of sports-style racing tension as Sonic and his pals perform tricks and stunts over treacherous wide-open terrain.

Sonic and friends speed through tracks on air boards, using individual special moves to strike down opponents. Air is a big element of ''Sonic Riders''. Your board's "fuel" source is air. You can fill up your air at various points on the course, but to race well you'll have to use another means of replenishment: performing tricks with your board. You'll also want to make use of turbulence from racers who are in front of you.

Problems

Hero Story Crash

The game may crash after the third level in the Hero Story. To correct this, enable "Speed Up Disc Transfer Rate" in the game properties.

Specular Highlights

Specular highlights do not appear in D3D11 or OpenGL. They only appear correctly in the D3D9 backend. See issue 6169.

Audio Desync in Cutscenes

The audio will get further and further ahead of the video during cutscenes. Use DSP LLE to fix this problem. Fixed by the merger of New-AX-HLE 2.0 in 3.5-1154.

Configuration

Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.
