Emulation Information
Wii MotionPlus
Wii Sports Resort requires the Wii MotionPlus add-on. Dolphin is currently not capable of emulating the Wii MotionPlus; the only way for official Dolphin builds to play this game is to use a real, physical Wii Remote with Wii MotionPlus. See 3446.
*Pre-3.0 revisions of Dolphin had rudimentary Wii MotionPlus emulation, but it does not work properly, lacking calibration and constantly disconnecting.
*Unofficial builds with Wii MotionPlus emulation are available. See the forum for details.

Hangs
Random hangs occur, refer 2579. Reproducible hangs occur when attempting to view the intro instructional video, refer 3586.

Bowling Controls
Bowling Controls
Manual bowling controls are inaccurate in current Dolphin builds. During a swing in manual mode, the timing of the ball's release is different compared to the timing on the Wii. It may be possible to adjust to the different timings, but it makes the game very difficult to play. There is currently no known solution to fix the manual bowling controls, but the automatic bowling controls are unaffected. See 5352.

Bluetooth Passthrough will resolve this issue overall.

Golf Shadows
Controllers Disconnect
The golf game has shadow problems with EFB to Texture in OpenGL and D3D11; creating a shadow that follows the camera and takes up much of the screen. Use D3D9 to correct this, or use EFB to RAM.
Wii Remotes randomly disconnect if "Enable Speaker Data" is on. Disable it to correct the problem.
*JITIL can be used to correct the shadows with EFB to Texture in D3D11. However, it results in several graphics glitches and can prevent the club from hitting the ball at random. JITIL is not recommended.
Bluetooth Passthrough with a decent adapter does not have this issue.

Wii Motion plus may not be detected when using the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack or the Mayflash DolphinBar. To resolve this problem you may have to have a Wii Nunchuck inserted into the remote as the game is being booted. Bluetooth Passthrough will resolve this issue overall.

Wii Sports Resort (Wii スポーツ リゾート, Wii Supōtsu Rizōto) is a sports video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii video game console, and is the successor to Wii Sports. It is one of the first titles to require the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which is bundled with the game. While the game was originally released only as a stand-alone title, as of 2009 the game is bundled with newer Wii consoles, along with Wii Sports.

Wii Sports Resort is a collection of twelve sports games, which includes enhanced games from Wii Sports along with completely new selections, designed to take advantage of the motion sensing capabilities of the Wii Remote, Wii MotionPlus, and Nunchuk. Like Wii Sports, players mimic the actions performed in real life sports, but they are played with greater accuracy thanks to the precision of the Wii MotionPlus.

Emulation Information

Bowling Controls

Manual bowling controls are inaccurate in emulated Bluetooth with current Dolphin builds. During a swing in manual mode, the timing of the ball's release is different compared to the timing on the Wii. It may be possible to adjust to the different timings, but it makes the game very difficult to play. Automatic bowling controls are unaffected. See issue 5352. Bluetooth Passthrough will resolve this issue overall.

Controllers Disconnect

Wii Remotes randomly disconnect if "Enable Speaker Data" is on. Disable it to correct the problem. Bluetooth Passthrough with a decent adapter does not have this issue.

Unable To Detect Wii Motion Plus

Wii Motion plus may not be detected when using the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack or the Mayflash DolphinBar. To resolve this problem you may have to have a Wii Nunchuck inserted into the remote as the game is being booted. Bluetooth Passthrough will resolve this issue overall.

Problems

Pixelated Box

With EFB Copies to Texture Only disabled, a pixelated box of varying sizes will appear during some games. Use EFB Copies to Texture Only to remove the pixelated box, however a black line may appear on top of where the box would be. This seems to be fixed since at least 5.0-10516.

Wii MotionPlus

This title requires the Wii MotionPlus add-on. Dolphin prior to 5.0-10056 was not capable of emulating the Wii MotionPlus; the only way to play this game was to use a real, physical Wii Remote with Wii MotionPlus add-on or a Wii Remote Plus controller. See issue 4282. Resolved with Wii MotionPlus emulation implemented in 5.0-10056 and later.

Enhancements

Banding/Pixelated Shading at IR>1

Shading will look weird when playing with an IR>1, almost as if it's pixelated. Set Texture Filtering to Force Linear to resolve it.

Misaligned 2D UI Elements at IR>1

Various 2D UI elements become misaligned at IR>1 (with the issue becoming more evident at 3x IR and higher). Turn on Vertex Rounding to resolve it.

There is also a sky-colored line in the archery game (see issue 9105). This has a different internal cause, and is fixed by enabling Vertex Rounding on 5.0-16260 or later.
