The Pokémon Colosseum Bonus Disc is a disc that was given for free to anyone who pre-ordered Pokémon Colosseum. It includes a preview of the movie 'Jirachi The Wish Maker' and of the game 'Pokémon Colosseum'. The English version also includes the Pokémon Jirachi that can be achieved in the games Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, while the Japanese version contains the Pokémon Celebi instead.

Problems

GCN-GBA Connectivity

In stable releases of VBA-M, the GCN-GBA connectivity does not work properly, causing severe slow-downs to the point where both games timeout before an emulated connection can be established. Although unstable and barely functional for Pokémon Colosseum Bonus Disc, the recommended releases of VBA-M to use the GCN-GBA emulated hook-up are the WXVBAM versions. You may need to import the battery save that matches the game running in VBA-M while the GBA BIOS is active for Dolphin to establish the link properly. The save type for the compatible GBA Pokémon games are Flash 128K if automatic save detection does not work.

GBA Controller (JAP only)

If a GBA is selected for any of the ports except port 1 before the game is started, the emulator will ignore port 1 GameCube controller inputs. To fix, just set the ports to None before starting the game. It can be re-enabled once the game prompts you to if the user decides to try the GCN-GBA hook-up features without any ignored inputs.

Misaligned Text

Due to differences in the font shipped with Dolphin from the real GC Bios font, the text of some dialogs may be misaligned. This can be corrected by extracting the real GC BIOS font, font_ansi.bin, and placing it in the "Sys\GC" directory, or by disabling skipping the GameCube BIOS. Refer issue 8653.

Configuration

Only configuration options for the best compatibility where they deviate from defaults are listed.

Testing

This title has been tested on the environments listed below:

Test Entries
Revision OS CPU GPU Result Tester
3.5-141 Windows 7 x64 Intel Core i7-2600 @ 3.4GHz NVIDIA GeForce GT 545 Japanese version. Videos stop after less than one second, you have to press B to go back to the menu. The Celebi downloader seems to work, I couldn't understand any of the menus. Sound stops playing in the menu after several minutes.
4.0-6046 Windows 8.1 x64 Intel Core i5-3210M @ 2.5GHz NVIDIA GeForce 610M Game ID: PC6E01. 60FPS. The preview videos play just fine. The GCN-GBA connectivity to obtain Jirachi works but is finicky. Used VBA-M 1292. Use proper procedures to enable GCN-GBA hook-up. Had to import battery save just as the GBA boot screen was finishing up its animation for the Bonus Disc to properly connect with Ruby/Sapphire Version. First Jirachi obtaining for Ruby Version worked like it did if real hardware were used but the second Jirachi obtaining for Sapphire Version had a desync somewhere in communication but the desync only affected Dolphin. The two VBA-M saves are corruption-free and both have Jirachi with a random held berry just like the real hardware would result. Just one weird render error. issue 8489. Wildgoosespeeder
