Sonic and the Secret Rings is a video game developed by Sonic Team as part of the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It was released exclusively for the Wii on February 20, 2007 in North America; March 2 in Europe; and March 15 in Japan. Secret Rings is a 3D platform and action game whose plot follows the series' main character, Sonic the Hedgehog, on a quest to stop an evil genie named the Erazor Djinn. The game uses a system of experience points and levels, as well as special moves.
Emulated Wii Remote
Using an emulated Wii Remote may cause issues with actions such as homing attack and walking backwards. This can be corrected by marking both "Sideways Wiimote" and "Upright Wiimote" on the Wii Remote configuration screen. "Upright Wiimote" may need to be deactivated for some sections, such as the flying carpet in the final world.
There are no reported problems with this title.
IR >1 and Scaled EFB Copies Impacts Special Effects
Having an internal resolution above 1x Native and having Scaled EFB Copies enabled will cause some depth effects (such as the text on the parchment in Lost Prologue) appear slightly different. In the case of Lost Prologue, the text disappears slightly further away than it would otherwise. This is barely noticeable and does not impact gameplay at all.
The following AR code will make the game run at 60 fps instead of 30.
$60FPS [Nick Reynolds] 040B6878 3800003C
This title does not need non-default settings to run properly.

|Windows 7||Intel Core i7-920 @ 4.05GHz||ATI Radeon HD 4890||The game can be played at full speed's in HD even with fraps recording. Sonic and the Secret Rings on Dolphin Wii/GC Emulator (1080p HD) Full Speed||iNexXxuS|
|Windows 7||Intel Core i5 @ 2.53GHz||ATI Radeon HD 5650||15FPS 30vps 48% when more enemy speed go more down, real Wii Remote command don't work sometimes. Is hardly playable.||David|
|Windows 7||AMD Athlon II X3 450||AMD Radeon HD 6670||D3D11 1x Native OpenMP 45~50FPS in game. Full speed on menu.||Faefdsedf|
|Windows 7||Intel Core i5-2500K||NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti||Perfect 30FPS Speed%100, Graphics:Direct3D, 3xNative, AA 2samples, AF16x, Skip EFB Access from CPU/On, Audio HLE XAudio2.Sonic and the Secret Rings on Dolphin Emulator||LaImpetoOscuro|
|Windows 7||Intel Core i5-4690K @ 4.2GHz||NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970||Locked to 30FPS, no loss of framerate or speed. 4x Native, 8x AA, 16x Anisotropic. Emulated Wii Remote tilt with analog or digital inputs is off-center, acting as if the Wii Remote is tilted slightly to the left.||Alcom1|
|Windows 10||Intel Xeon E3-1230 V3 @ 3.3GHz||AMD Radeon R9 290X x3||Runs perfectly at 30FPS (framerate=auto), no lost frames or slowdown. 4x Native, 16x Anisotropic, 8x SSAA, Borderless fullscreen at 1920x1080, OpenGL. Widescreen hack does not work or have any effect. Using an Emulated Wii Remote & Steam Controller, works okayish if you mess around with the settings - jump dash works fine, catapult does not||qaisjp|
|Windows 7||Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.8GHz||NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760||Perfect. Used a Real Wii Remote, was very responsive and was able to play through the first two worlds no problem. After that the game is a bit too hard for me to really care and I stopped. Game is pretty beautiful in Dolphin all things considered.||JMC47|
|Windows 10||Intel Core i5-4690K||AMD Radeon HD 6970||Most of the time I get full speed (30fps), but certain effects like the sun in Sand Oasis will drag the framerate down (~20fps) when they're on screen. Checking "Skip EFB Access" helps, and doesn't cause too many major graphical issues. Sometimes, excess smoke will cause minor slowdowns, too. 1x native resolution, 8x SSAA, DirectX 11.||TheLostSkeleton|
|Windows 10||Intel Core i7-5820K||NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960||Game runs at full speed in 2k30FPS. I was using an emulated Wii Remote with upright and sideways Wii Remote set and Sonic was constantly moving forward making the game unplayable. I could not find a fix for this either.||Brimaster2000|
